Ramon Monegal
Ramon Monegal descends from a long and distinquished lineage of Barcelonan and Spanish perfumers. He represents the fourth generation of the House of Myrurgia, which was the official purveyor to the Spanish royal family and was the most important international perfume company in Spain. His training began in 1972 in Barcelona, memorizing and familiarizing himself with the best scents, including mythical infusions. His training continued in Geneva, then in Grasse and finally in Paris. After 30 years in his profession, having become a Master Perfumer and authentic Nose, Ramon Monegal’s challenge became twofold. First, he sought to produce excellence in a way only a luxury product can do. And, second, he began sharing his knowledge and craft with the fifth generation of his storied family. In 2009 emerged the project he had always dreamed of creating: “The Author Image Fragrance.” He began creating in his own name, like perfumers of the golden era and took control of his own workshop, specializing in mixing, maceration, production, and quality control. In this way, he works with the luxury of true freedom in the creation of art. Making use of the most luxurious materials, I have designed an inkwell, l’encrier, as an iconic perfume recipient, an object of desire, a single bottle that houses all the soul and essence of my work. Apart from nature, my main source of inspiration is literature. From the wealth of prose to the succinctness of poetry. I can turn words into notes, phrases into chords, stories into compositions, and the ink, the ethyl- lyrical component and of all thoughts, into imagined perfume.
